It’s Back!

The Stewardship Committee would like to invite you to Guess Who’s Coming Dinner. This is a wonderful opportunity for some fun, hospitality and getting to know each other better. The idea is simple. You can sign up as a host to have as many or as few people as you would like for supper. Or you can sign up as a guest to come over for supper. The fun part, is you don’t know who will be guest or host until the co-ordinator tells you whose house to go to, or until your guests show up!

Guests will be invited to make a donation to the church and there will be an opportunity to find out about opportunities for service in the church as well as to share where we are going.

Getting involved is very simple: there is a sign up sheet in the narthex where you can sign up as a guest or a host, or both. Hosts can put forward some alternate dates and times when they would be willing to host between now and the end of June. Then our co-ordinator, Rosemary Allen will try to match you up. Rosemary is also looking for a co- co-ordinator if you would like to help.

“ The Glory of God is Men and Women fully human, fully alive.” St. Irenaeus, c. 170 AD

What if you someone were to write a description of your life and it looked like this:“I am amazed by how much love there is in my life. Everyday I am awestruck by how much joy I feel, and the peace in the midst of being able to wait out the tough times. My friends describe me as kind, genuinely good and loyal. I am both a gentle, tender soul and resolutely committed to walking with integrity”

Two thousand years ago the Apostle Paul described what he believed to be such a life, for those who cultivate the spiritual life. He described it as the fruit of the spirit, of being able to live life fully characterized by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Christ The Redeemer Anglican Church would like you to join us for a spiritual exploration of La Dolce Vita, the Sweet Life, of finding that life can be sweet indeed.

We will meet at 6:00 pm every Monday for a simple pot luck and then start our session at 7:00 pm

February 27th Love

March 5th Joy

March 12 Peace

March 19th Patience and Kindness

March 26th Goodness and Faithfulness

April 2nd Gentleness and Self-Control

La Dolce Vita Online Forum

We want you to help explore the sweet life. Throughout March we will be keeping a La Dolce Vita Facebook page and inviting you to share thoughts, quotes, stories, songs, movies, scriptures, on the subject. Who should be the patron saint(s) of each, who exemplifies it? Is there a link to someone who has wisdom on how to live the Dolce Vita? Would you like to post an essay, a reflection on love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control?

Each Sunday sermon in Lent will be a scriptural reflection on different aspects of The Sweet Life. We will be gathering our collective wisdom and publishing it on the internet and inviting people to join us. After each session we will be inviting you to share what your thoughts and post them online. It will be a way of seeking together for the Sweet Life, a life worth living.

We are pleased to launch a new ministry at Christ the Redeemer! We are inviting folks to join us on Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 11:30 am for an opportunity for conversational English.

It is lead by Soji Perinbam. Soji has a passion for helping folks who are new to the country help develop their conversational English skills. It is not a formal class, just a chance to have a cup of coffee and chat at whatever level you are comfortable with.

You are also welcome just to join us for coffee. Please help us get word out and if you know someone who could benefit from practicing their English, feel free to drop in, email us or call.
